Dieser Wert beträgt bei der KSR 0.8, wohingegen er bei den erfolgreicheren Gymnasien gegen 0.2 und darunter tendiert. Das bedeutet also, dass die Romanshorner KantonsschülerInnen bei der Matura durchschnittlich die Note 4.9 erreichen, bei der ETH-Prüfung jedoch lediglich die Note 4.1. Dieser Unterschied ist zu deutlich, dass er eine rein zufällige Grösse sein könnte. Dies beweist auch eine Analyse der anderen Werte. Ermittelt man die Differenz zwischen den beiden Noten, so fällt auf, dass diese bei den 10 schlechtesten Schulen immer zwischen 0.7 und 1.1 liegt. Macht man dieselben Untersuchungen bei den 10 bestens Schulen, so fällt ebenfalls auf, dass der Wert dort zwischen 0.2 und 0.5 liegt. Wobei auch hier das enfant terrible aus dem Thurgau kommt. Die Kanti Frauenfeld schlägt mit 0.5 leicht oben aus. Alle anderen haben einen Wert um 0.3 herum. Der Referenzwert müsste also auf ein Maximum von 0.5 festgelegt werden. Alles andere ist grundsätzlich zu viel – Auch in einer Traumwelt. Das soll natürlich nicht heissen, dass von nun an die Maturaprüfungen schwerer gemacht werden sollten, um sich dem Schnitt von 4.1 zu nähern.
